Hi! Is the selvedge done in a way where the cotton can be removed without losing width, or is it interwoven with the hemp? I'm wondering because for the application of my project I need it to be pure hemp, so I need to know if I'm going to lose width cutting the cotton off or if it can be safely removed, leaving the hemp below.
We used cotton yarn for the selvage (end part of the fabric) , so if you want pure hemp including the selvage part, you should cut it.When you are cutting the salvage, you may loose a bit of width

It is sheer. I don't think this is a good material for pants.
Is this fabric prepared for dyeing?
This fabric is in its natural, unbleached state, so while it can be dyed, the final color may turn out differently than you expect.
why is the selvedge white?
Do you mean the side edge of the fabric?
We did not use hemp material for the salvage.. We used cotton for that part.
