This fabric is primarily designed for garment making. I believe it’s sturdy enough, but if it’s going to be used heavily, you might want to consider an upholstery fabric instead — those are woven with higher density and offer greater rub resistance.

This linen fabric is pretty durable—similar to most linen fabrics. We haven’t done official testing, but it should work fine for a couch topper. It also feels soft because it’s pre-washed.
