Ginkgo is a well-known tree from northeast Asia, but used ornamentally around the world. It has a distinctive leaf as it is an ancient tree which dates back to before the dinosaurs. The fruit of the tree is used in oriental medicine to treat many problems including inflammation and breathing problems.

The Morning Calm Ginkgo pattern was designed exclusively for The Linen Lab by Anna M. Jo, a traditional folk artist residing in Seoul.

Were Natural, non chemical dies used to color this fabric? How was this rayon fabric chemically processed? Does is contain PFSAs or is it GOTS Certified (Global Organic Textile Standard)

To be honest, we don't have the PFSA or GOTS certifications.
The base fabric is actually a deadstock material, so we don't have the exact details on how the rayon fibers were originally processed. However, we can share our own finishing process: the fabric has undergone de-sizing, fabric washing, light bleaching, digital pigment printing, heat setting, and a final wash.
We didn't use traditional dyes on this; the pattern is a digital pigment print on a lightly bleached base. If you're looking for a completely chemical-free option, this might not be the best fit, but it has been thoroughly washed and heat-set during our production.
What are the washing care instructions for this fabric?

Handwash in cold water,
machine wash in gentle cycle
do not bleach, cool iron if needed
tumble dry low, line dry

This fabric is made of 93% rayon and 7% linen. Despite our efforts to stabilize it against washing, ironing, and tumble drying, the high rayon content means it's prone to shrinkage. Please anticipate a shrinkage of 4-6%.
